With this recession dragging on the more I speak with HR personnel the more I loathe them.  They have absolutely no idea what to look for and how to discern talent and how a skill set can fit a position.

Recently I received a call from an HR person looking to speak to me about a New Business Development position.  My background has ERP experience (technology) and I have over 11 years in B to B experience at the highest level.  The position in question was in technology, and while it varied from my experience, was not too far removed.  I pride myself on my ability to generate revenue and adapt to a new industry, as I have done so a few times in my career with great success.

This HR IDIOT starts me out with “well, I reviewed your resume and don’t see a fit but maybe you can tell me something about yourself that doesn’t appear on your resume”.  How in God’s name do you respond to a person whose sole purpose on this planet is to oblige law so to give the appearance of even handedness.  They have no practical experience and fall under the “Those who can do, do.  Those who can’t teach”.  But in this case it’s “those who can’t work in HR”.

Well, I politely answered in a manner fitting a pea brained individual simply filling a position mandated by the state.  However, had I known how the rest of this phone interview was going to go, and knowing that she just didn’t understand how my skill set translated quite nicely, I wouldn’t answered something like this:  “I dont’ think someone of my level should have to qualify myself to someone who cannot assimilate the simplest of skill set transference  and business concepts”.

Then I should have hung up on her and tried to call back someone in upper management.  And while I know this would’ve been a fruitless exercise, I would’ve been spared the embarrassment of being castrated by some pea brained moron who should be the one on my side of the phone asking me for a job.

Just thinking out loud, but given all the tough talk last year regarding Iran’s development of nuclear weapons why is Obama so quiet?  Does he just lack the backbone to be a leader?  I would say that this is a little crisis going on over there in the middle east and what is our chosen one doing?

Going to Denmark to pitch the Olympics.

Yes, that’s what we need at this critical time.  He shouldn’t be trying to put our minds at ease about what he plans to do with Iran.  We don’t need to address more seriously the problems in Afghanistan.  We certainly don’t need try and resolve our healthcare fiasco.  And Mr. President, whatever you do, please continue to ignore the recession and the joblessness in our country.

Oh, I see, he’s using the old “lets go to sleep and hopefully everything will be fine in the morning” tactic.  President Obama, you sly fox, you go and enjoy your stay in Copenhagen, everything will be just fine.

You don’t have to get laid off to feel the pain of this recession. Raises, bonuses and other incentive programs have been slashed since the downturn began, and employees saddled with additional workloads for less pay are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with their current position.

Forty percent of employees at organizations affected by layoffs say productivity has been negatively impacted, according to a recent survey by the Workforce Institute at Kronos. Of those 40%, two-thirds of them say that morale is suffering and that employees are less motivated than before.

Now that the pace of layoffs is slowing, and the smoke is starting to clear, smart companies are taking stock and realizing that morale can affect the bottom line.

Not all employers understand this basic fact, but worker morale is a crucial part of running a solid business. An organization may have a hard time hanging on to employees in the long term and have trouble attracting new talent if its reputation as a good place to work is soured. The company may also not be prepared to meet increased demand when the economy picks up again.

Unfortunately, this brutal recession may have caused a permanent shift in the way companies treat their employees - it not only destroyed the markets, but killed any humanity in countless companies.

I believe the government is missing something more at the core of the healthcare debate than just reform; this country’s distrust of our elected officials.

How can anyone with half of a brain think that our government isn’t going to drop the ball yet again.  Let’s review the several ways that our government has earned our distrust.  First Bailout Bill was a 4 page document that basically gave banks and every other corporate giant money to spend on themselves, despite the warnings that our economic lives are in danger.  The Second Bailout Bill, under Obama, which was suppose to be more transparent and used exclusively to revive our dying economy, according the Barney Frank.  Yet months later nobody knows where the money is, and Chris Dodd had to cover Geithner and Obama’sass about the AIG bonuses, which weren’t suppose to be in the bill.  Billions of dollars being wasted subsidizing recycling centers which cause more pollution and cost more to run, the only worthwhile thing to recycle is aluminum cans.

WMD, lies; Iraqi Freedom, lies; Nancy Pelosi not knowing about the extent of torture; lies.  I can go on and on.  So when the topic of healthcare reform is brought up, and we hear that there are literally hundreds of renditions of this bill, all packed with worthless pork and double talking, why would the citizens of this great country protest, if not for protest sake.

So Washington, D.C., sleep well in the beds that you’ve made for yourselves.  Nobody trusts you anymore.

So, now it’s “un-American” to speak your mind.  This seems to be the new motto of Nancy Pelosi and her spend happy, make the middle class and rich pay for everything, band of incompetent assholes.

Given the fact that her party, the Democrats, master the art of chaos by volume, she should be flattered….you know, imitation is the highest form of flattery.

“These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views - but of the facts themselves,” said Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland. “Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades.”  No, it failed because there is no way in hell that this type of program will work.  It will only be a drain on our economy and nobody will ever get an upgrade in their health coverage.

So, once again the most worthless human on the planet, Nancy Pelosi, opens her mouth only to show the entire world that she’s a complete asshole.

Ok, who with an IQ of over 70 is really surprised that President Obama has plans on raising taxes on the middle class?

After already masking taxes on the lower and middle class with his tobacco tax, the two classes that smoke the most, he and his tax happy left-wing clowns in D.C. are looking at taxing trans fats, soft drinks, beer, wine, and so on.  Of course, this will not get the job done completely so…..

Here comes a tax hike on the middle class.  Wow, BIIIIIGGGG surprise there Mr. President.  Those Americans who blindly drank the Kool Aid you were pouring during the campaign are now going the experience the sin of your overspending.  Get ready middle class, we are in for a financial butt pounding.

Of course Timothy Geithner (whose name alone makes me impulsively kick the cat), has a reasonable explanation that should clear the The Chosen One from any responsibility of lying.   “We have to bring these deficits down very dramatically. And that’s going to require some very hard choices.”  But at least we have that stimulus package creating jobs and…..wait, where the hell is all that money again????

It gives me very little pleasure for me and my cohorts who knew this was coming to gloat in our “I told you so’s” because it’s so damn painful to have to pay our way out of Obama reckless spending.  His inexperience is blinding and somehow everything he’s touched so far has turned to shit, at least on the economic front.

But, I seek comfort in the fact that this could be all a bad dream and I’m going to wake up with a smart, EXPERIENCE, president running the show.   I just can’t believe my alarm clock didn’t go off yet….what’s taking it so long to go off?

It’s happened; President Obama has successfully vilified the rich and well-to-do.  Who cares if they struggled, went to school, worked their asses off and earned what they got, his message is clear:  Rich people = Republicans and Republicans = Evil People.  Therefore, logically speaking, the rich should pay for everything because they are bloodthirsty savages who rape and pillage our country for their own personal gain.

Before I continue, I am NOT a rich white guy.  I am a middle class white guy who grew up in a lower middle class family and put himself through school.  Now I get to watch as the entire country has “I hate people who have the means to help themselves” syndrome thanks for Obama’s campaign of “rich people have the money let them foot the bill”.

First off, lets dispel the myth that the more you make the less you pay in taxes.  I don’t know where the hell this came from but the more you make the higher your tax percentage goes up and the more the rich pay in taxes.  If the rich did pay less of a percentage in taxes, than why would the democrats be so hell bent of NOT having a flat tax.

President Obama, after achieving a “Hate The Rich” mentality, has started writing checks full well knowing that the most prosperous will foot the bill.  Cash for Clunkers is disguised as a way to help the American car industry, and it may do so, but where do you think that money is coming from?  The government will turn around and have to find money for the soon to be $3 billion dollar legislative bill.  Where is the health care reform money come from?  Who is going to pay for the February spending..err…stimulus bill that totaled over $800 billion?  BTW, where the hell are all the shovels we were suppose to see and jobs that were suppose to be created.  Oh yeah, in AIG’s pocket thanks for Chris Dodd, Tim Geithner, and President Obama.

This country better wake the hell up and realize that spending money and taxing those who are in a better financial situation is stupid, irresponsible, and yes, UNAMERICAN.

President Abraham Lincoln said it best:

- You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
- You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
- You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
- You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
- You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
- You cannot build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence.
- You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

So, woman beater Chris Brown wants forgiveness for beating up Rhianna.  Hmm, could it be that he is truly sorry?  NO!!!!  This animal is only sorry because he wants his career back, and that’s the only reason he’s sorry.  Just like Michael Vick was sorry about having dog fights; because he got caught and his career suffered.

Chris Brown is typical of today’s celebrity; Get away with anything and everything and then apologize only if you lose out financially.  I’m sick of it!!!  If Chris Brown was John Q. Public he would’ve lost so much more and spent time behind bars.  But given that he has some manufactured talent and sells albums, he got away with what amounts to a slap on the wrist.

I really hope that Chris Brown’s career stays derailed forever.  If I were a record label executive I wouldn’t want the headaches of putting up with woman’s groups anyway, so I’d leave him to his own woman beating devices.  Frankly, no record label in the world really needs him anyway, they can just manufacture another so-called star.

Can someone explain to me the appeal that this self-indulgent, derelict dad, cheating husband of a douche bag has for women?

I understand that he is rich and tabloid-famous, but only because he is a baseball player with questionable skills (how do you spell C-H-O-K-E!) and a fascination with his own fame. But for goodness sakes, how about making a character judgment before spreading your legs ladies? How about an STD risk analysis before swapping body fluids with Mr. Sleaze? How about not acting like a low-class groupie slut? Yes, I am talking about you Kate Hudson, Madonna,  Bethenny Frankel, Alicia Marie and a long list of other whores who have shared DNA samples with a roster of strippers and prostitutes. Read more

Obesity can be “caught” as easily as a common cold from other people’s coughs, sneezes and dirty hands, scientists are set to declare today.

The condition has been linked to a highly-infectious virus which causes sniffles and sore throats.

Nikhil Dhurandhar, an associate professor at The Pennington Biomedical Research Center, in Baton Rouge, La., said the virus, known as AD-36, infects the lungs then whisks around the body, forcing fat cells to multiply and also causing sore throats. Read more
